VANCOUVER, June 24, 2020 – Veteran Executive Producer, Matt Shewchuk, announces today that he is launching a new production company based in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Big Time Decent Productions (BTD) will focus on developing and producing both unscripted and scripted series, feature films, and social media content.

“Big Time Decent was created to tell big stories and push the envelope of new media,” said Shewchuk. “We have 6,000 square feet of production and post facilities, and a team of talented producers all driven by the same passion — creating original content for a global audience.”

Shewchuk most recently co-created and executive-produced the hit television series Rust Valley Restorers, along with Mayhem Entertainment. Now going into its third season of production, the series debuted on the History Channel and was successfully launched on Netflix in 2019. With an international fanbase and surging popularity, Rust Valley is now one of Netflix’s top 5 car shows.

Big Time Decent’s newest series, Backroad Truckers, debuts on the History Channel in 2021. Produced with Mayhem Entertainment, this series follows the crazy world of “hot-shot truckers” in the most dangerous off-road locations of northern British Columbia.

Prior to launching BTD, Shewchuk has been a producer on films like Three Night Stand and a mainstay director on hit Discovery shows like Highway Thru Hell and Heavy Rescue: 401. He has received many industry accolades, including a Canadian Screen Award for his direction of the final episode of History Channel’s Ice Pilots NWT.

Shewchuk is launching BTD with an aggressive slate of original IP, strategic partnerships, and talent deals to be announced in the coming year.
