“As a young filmmaker, the Whistler Film Festival provided an important platform to share my work and move my career forward. One of the first films that I produced with my friends premiered at WFF. Later, when our team launched our successful factual series Rust Valley Restorers, we had the opportunity to speak at the festival, and share our experience with industry peers and up-and-comers,” says Matt Shewchuk, President & Executive Producer, Big Time Decent Productions. “Today, I feel so grateful to be able to give back to this important event and to support the next generation of filmmakers.”
The WFF Doc Lab is an intensive five-month mentorship program for Canadian documentary filmmakers, and Big Time Decent Productions will provide this year’s participants with a total of $30,000 of post-production services at the company’s 5,000 square-foot post facility located in Burnaby, B.C. Big Time Decent Productions will be hosting the Filmmaker Party on Friday, December 3rd at 8pm at the Whistler Racquet Club. By invitation only, the event will celebrate Canadian filmmakers and the creative talent featured at this year’s festival with pickleball, a snowball fight zone, roller skating, axe-throwing and refreshments provided by Whistler Brewing.
Rust Valley Restorers Season 4 will premiere on HISTORY in Winter 2022. In addition to Big Time Decent Productions’ strong foundation in factual series, the company is expanding their development slate to include hard hitting feature documentaries and scripted series.
