BIG TIME DECENT DEVELOPS NEW COMEDY SERIES FOR CANADIAN BROADCASTER

Big Time Decent Productions has struck a deal with a Canadian broadcaster to develop FOREIGN AFFAIRS, a single-camera half-hour comedy that pokes fun at Ottawa’s diplomatic community.

Matt Shewchuk’s Big Time Decent is developing the series for a leading Canadian network with co-creators Ed Weeks (Fox’s The Mindy Project) and Canadian duo Nicolas Wright & James A. Woods (Independence Day: Resurgence) onboard as executive producers.

In addition, Weeks, Wright, and Woods will star in the series alongside an ensemble cast of diverse Canadian and British talent. According to Shewchuk, “Foreign Affairs takes a classic upper-class politician and drags him through the mud – exactly what the world needs right now.” BTD Head of Development René Brar agrees, “It’s a comedy about entitlement crashing head-on into bureaucracy.”

Weeks, Wright, and Woods are on a hot streak under their newly formed banner W3, having recently sold comedy pilots to FOX and ABC Studios. Meanwhile, Big Time Decent is developing and producing a raft of projects including HISTORY’s popular car restoration series Rust Valley Restorers and the upcoming Backroad Truckers

Shewchuk’s relationship with Wright and Woods goes back much further, with the trio having sold the pilot Almost Vacant to Comedy Central in 2012.

Produced by Big Time Decent Productions, Foreign Affairs is written, executive produced, created by and starring Ed Weeks, Nicolas Wright, and James A. Woods and executive produced by Matt Shewchuk.
